THE UNITY OF THE CHURCH

The great awakening will occur through the unity of the Church: The difficult times in which we are living, socially, economically, and politically—as well as continuing natural disasters are unmistakable signals that the return of Christ is closer than we think. The word of God in Matthew 24:33 says that, “when you see these things, you know that it is near, right at the door.”

In the same way, we know that just before His coming, there will be a great spiritual awakening, symbolized by the spring rains of which God spoke in Hosea 6:3, “…he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” (Jeremiah 5:24)

James 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. The prophet Joel says in Joel 2:23, “Be glad then, you children of Zion. And rejoice in the LORD your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully. And He will cause the rain to come down for you—the former rain and the latter rain in the first month.”

For believers in Christ, who have ears to listen and eyes to see, it is clear to understand that the catalyst of the great awakening that precedes the coming of Christ will occur in a powerful manifestation of the Holy Spirit to satisfy peoples’ insatiable thirst to know the word of God.

This will occur as a result of the desperation that will flood the earth, the multiplication of strange, incurable diseases, the threat of war, and the increase of natural disasters. In that exact moment, the Church of Christ will experience a powerful need to unify. Doctrinal barriers that separate will be forgotten, and we will find in the message of our savior Jesus Christ, His blood of redemption, the all-powerful source of unity.

Like the early rains of Judgment Day in Acts 2:1-19, the Holy Spirit is manifested in powerful signals and supernatural miracles. As a result, millions of people fall to the feet of Christ. An unmistakable preamble to the preparation for the second coming of Christ is the rapture as mention in I Thess. 4:16 just before the day of the coming of the Lord. (Acts 2:20).
